About FootGuru
The person writing these guides
I'm Justin Blake. Podiatrist. CORU and HCPC registered. Over thirty years in clinic.
For most of the 2000s and 2010s I ran a group of seven podiatry clinics across Ireland. I sold that group in 2020 and spent the years since working with some of Ireland's specialist clinics as a consultant. I'm now back in solo practice at Justin Blake Podiatry in Dundalk.
Why FootGuru exists
The pattern I've seen across thirty years is the same one you've probably lived: pain arrives, someone tells you to rest, ice it, buy different insoles, do these three stretches. It settles for a while. Then it comes back the moment activity resumes. That cycle repeats because none of it addresses why the tissue is being overloaded in the first place.
FootGuru is where I write that down. The load patterns, the footwear factors, the daily habits that actually explain why a specific pain keeps returning and the things I explain in clinic every week, in a form you can read and act on before you ever book an appointment.
What the guides are, and aren't
Every guide targets one specific problem. Heel pain. Knee pain. Nail surgery. Football boots. Standing all day. Each one is short, honest, and built from what I've actually seen work with real patients.
No generic exercise lists. No promise that the cause of your pain is a single stretch you haven't tried yet. No "elite biomechanics optimisation" language. Just clear thinking about load, movement and footwear, with a specific plan for the week ahead.
If you've been told to rest something that won't settle with rest, one of these guides is probably for you.
